Sorry if it feels disappointing. There’s no joke and no twist. But please, read until the end.

EXTRA TL;DR: Because some people is not really reading until the end, I absolutely despise soul-less crappy genAI <s>“art”</s> artifacts with all my guts, including the image in the header of this post.

We use AI / LLM but… it doesn’t mean we approve how those AIs are being made, or the damage they’re doing to the society, or how some companies are trying to become the new overlords thanks to robbing the knowledge gathered by the humankind.

It’s like: We hate what McDonald’s or Coca-Cola has behind but we still consume it.

It’s quite hard to be politically correct these days. Our current limit is to not collaborate with people that like to raise their right hand (we miss Twitter…).

If we were politically correct, we should get started by directly closing all commerce relationships with the USA, the “land of freedom”, which is also known as the largest economy, but also one of the top with less wealth distribution and with an undisclosed important percentage of people surviving in poverty. For some reason that “freedom” usually means that the rich are free to take everything from the poor because they can. Please take a moment to think why the AIs were mostly developed in the USA, and why there’s no problem if Meta, OpenAI and others downloaded and used exabytes of copyrighted content without any problems. If something like that happened in Europe, the companies would be shut down at the very instant. And I haven’t even mentioned all the wars that the USA have started “because petroleum”.

So, yes. We use AI, mainly for:

Reviewing texts and helping with translations

Processing huge debug logs

Finding code snippets (reviewing every line, and correcting 2/3s of them, of course)

Creating some silly “shit-posts”

Processing ideas

But we don’t use AI to create crappy soul-less art (unless we are actually making a freeware crappy game about crap).

We also believe that the current AI bubble situation is unsustainable and it’s going to change the world for the worst.
And what will of the workers when they’re not longer needed? Wealth distribution will be enforced to… save capitalism?

But well, on the other hand, AI is also becoming really helpful in some cases:

Helping people without resources to legally defend theirselves.

Advancing a lot faster on finding cures to diseases.

… That’s it.

We’re doomed 😅 Please enjoy life as much as you can, and be nice to each other ♥

And please try not to be too much judgmental of the people that use AI on their jobs. Some things are not that simple, and AI, used correctly, is going to become a standard tool, mandatory for most companies if they want to keep on being competitive. For some reason, some companies think that replacing good workers with AI was a good plan, and it’s always a recipe for the worst.

Notes: This post was not written with AI. It was only used to find out how to say “matices” in English (nuances) and to generate the main image with the prompt “create an image about rawrlab games using ai”. Oof, the post image is so horrible and I hate it so much (I just generated it). I’m very sorry for making you see that 😅 But it’s definitely good to make the point.

TL;DR: Yes, we do use generative AI / LLM.
